The ECAT (Engineering College Admission Test) is the combined entrance test conducted by UET Lahore for admission to public-sector engineering institutions in Punjab, held under Punjab Government directives since 1999. It is Intermediate level: 100 MCQs in 100 minutes for 400 marks, with 10 English paragraph-comprehension questions and 90 questions divided equally among the three subjects of your chosen combination, one of five options spanning Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Statistics, and Biology. Each correct answer earns 4 marks; wrong and blank answers earn 0, with no negative marking and no test passing threshold. Applicants may attempt the test multiple times and their best score counts.
UET's standard Intermediate merit formula is 17% Matric, 50% Intermediate Part I and 33% ECAT. Part I marks are used even when the complete result is available. You need at least 50% aggregate for consideration and must submit a separate admission application. Our free ECAT mock covers Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English, with subject scores and explanations.
