What Is PNEC?

PNEC (Pakistan Navy Engineering College) was established in 1962. It is located on a 75-acre campus near the Karachi coast. The college primarily serves Pakistan Navy officers but also admits civilian students on merit-based admission through NUST NET. It has an administration block, four academic blocks, a postgraduate studies center, labs and workshops, an auditorium, a mosque, a dispensary, and hostel facilities.

Undergraduate Programs at PNEC

BE Mechanical Engineering at PNEC has a marine engineering focus complementing Pakistan Navy's needs. BE Electrical Engineering covers power and electronics with naval applications. BE Naval Architecture covers ship design, marine structures, and ocean engineering — unique to PNEC among Pakistani universities. BS Computer Science follows the SEECS curriculum. BS Maritime Sciences covers maritime studies, logistics, and port management — a unique program combining business, law, and maritime knowledge.

Campus Life

PNEC has separate hostel facilities for male and female students with dining and mess services. The college has a Deep Sea Diving and Sailing Club for water sports. Being near the coast, PNEC offers a unique campus experience different from NUST's other campuses.
