Where Is NUST Main Campus Located?

NUST's main campus is in Sector H-12, Islamabad, spread over 800 acres of land. The campus was established in 2008 and now houses over a dozen schools and institutes, three cafeterias and several cafes, multiple sports facilities, 18 hostels, a central library, a lake, and Pakistan's first National Science and Technology Park (NSTP).

C-1 (Concordia-1) and C-2 (Concordia-2)

C-1 and C-2 are the main cafeteria buildings on campus. Both are round, purpose-built structures that house multiple food counters, a juice shop, a bakery, a stationery shop, and a print shop. C-1 is centrally located near the NUST headquarters. C-2 is near the SEECS and NBS buildings. Both are popular hangout spots for students between classes.

C-3 and C-4

C-3 is located near the sports complex and provides scenic views of the cricket ground. C-4 is farthest from the main academic blocks, near the SNS and SMME buildings — it serves students from those schools who would walk far to reach C-1 or C-2.

Other Cafes

Margalla Cafe is an outdoor seating area just beside SADA — popular for its relaxed vibe. Coffee Lounge is famous among NUST students for Chinese food and Arabic-style shawarma. Retro Cafe is situated next to the boys' hostels and is a convenient evening spot for hostel residents.

Sports Facilities

NUST H-12 has extensive sports facilities: cricket grounds, football fields, volleyball courts, basketball courts, squash courts, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and multiple gymnasiums (a central gym and smaller ones in hostels). A hockey stadium and more tennis courts are under construction. The campus also has a small hiking trail opened in 2017 to promote physical well-being, and a horse riding club with a race course track.

Hostels and Housing

The campus has 8 hostels for male students (Ghazali, Beruni, Razi, Rahmat, Attar, Liaquat, Hajveri, Zakariya) and 10 for female students (Fatima I-V, Zainab, Ayesha, Khadija, Amna). Each hostel has a TV room, mess, laundry, gym, and sports courts. There is also housing for university staff within the campus.

Other Landmarks

The NUST Central Library is near the headquarters building. The lake is a popular spot for walks. The National Science and Technology Park (NSTP) is a dedicated innovation hub. A small hiking trail winds through the campus's natural terrain. Various student services like a photo shop, barber shop, ladies' parlour, hardware shop, and cellular shop are available within the campus.
