What Is the B.Arch Program at NUST SADA?

The Bachelor of Architecture at NUST SADA is a 5-year (10-semester) professional degree that prepares students for careers as registered architects. The program combines creative design with technical knowledge in building technology, structures, and environmental systems.

Curriculum Structure

Years 1-2 focus on foundational design studios, visual communication, history of architecture, building materials, and basic structures. Years 3-4 advance to urban design, sustainable architecture, building services, and advanced structural systems. Year 5 centres on the thesis project — a comprehensive design project that demonstrates the student's full architectural knowledge. Design studios are the core of the program, with each semester building on the previous one.

Admission Requirements

B.Arch admission requires a valid NUST NET score plus a school-specific creative aptitude test that evaluates drawing skills, spatial reasoning, and design thinking. Candidates must also submit a portfolio of artwork and design projects. The portfolio is a significant factor in the admission decision — it should show your best drawing, painting, sculpture, or design work.

PCATP Registration and Career

After completing B.Arch, graduates must complete 1 year of practical training under a registered architect before passing the PCATP registration exam. Once registered, architects can practise independently, work at architecture firms, or pursue further specialisation. Starting salary for fresh architects: PKR 50,000-90,000/month.
