NET Applied Sciences syllabus guide with the published NUST guidance for 2027: Biology 50, Chemistry 30, English 20, broad SSC/HSSC base, SAT-pattern English, merit and practice plan.
Revise Biology and Chemistry from SSC and HSSC Part I and II. English follows the SAT pattern, with reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary practice. There is no Mathematics section in Applied Sciences.
| Subject | Test weight | Questions in our mock |
|---|---|---|
| Biology | 50% | 100 |
| Chemistry | 30% | 60 |
| English | 20% | 40 |
Give study time in roughly the same ratio as the official weights, with about half going to Biology, then Chemistry, then English; adjust for your own weaknesses after timed sets. Keep English active daily, since it decides a fifth of the paper and SAT-pattern reading rewards steady practice. The 54-second-per-question average is a pacing plan across a set, not a rule for any single question.
You need at least 60% in SSC and HSSC or equivalent. The accepted NET paper depends on your qualification and chosen degree. Pre-Medical applicants to Bioinformatics and Food Science and Technology can use Applied Sciences or Engineering. Standard merit is 75% NET, 15% HSSC and 10% SSC; A Level final-year applicants use 25% O Level equivalence for the academic share. Tentative Series 1 registration runs from 4 October to 14 November 2026, with Islamabad tests from 17 November.
