How is IST Engineering merit calculated?

For FSc or DAE it uses 20% Matric/Equivalent, 40% FSc Part-I or DAE 3-year aggregate and 40% accepted test. For example, 80% Matric, 75% academic and 65% test give 16.00 + 30.00 + 26.00 = 72.00%. A-level Engineering uses 40% Matric/Equivalent and 60% test; for example, 80% with 65% test gives 32.00 + 39.00 = 71.00%.

Does IST Computing include an entry-test weight?

Computing/Science FSc uses 40% Matric/Equivalent and 60% FSc Part-I; for example, 80% with 75% Part-I gives 32.00 + 45.00 = 77.00%. A-level uses 100% Matric/Equivalent, so 80% gives 80.00%. No Computing-DAE option is published.

Which entry test should Engineering applicants enter?

Enter the percentage shown on your official result for one accepted Fall 2026 test, excluding ACT. Accepted tests are NAT, USAT, NET, ECAT, ETEA, MUET Jamshoro and NED Karachi. IST holds no entry test. For your ACT result, use the official IST portal. NAT and USAT results from 1 July 2025 to 31 July 2026 are acceptable. NET results from December 2025 to 31 July 2026 are acceptable. Check IST's notice to make sure your test category is accepted. ECAT, ETEA, MUET and NED use Fall 2026 intake results. These results must meet IST's admission deadline. Other options use only the percentage shown on your official result. Enter percentages only. IST publishes no conversion to 36 or another total.
