FAST Engineering and Computing syllabus guide for 2027. Official section weights, practice focus areas, eligibility, merit splits, and test-day mechanics.
Prepare Advanced Mathematics, Basic Mathematics, Analytical Skills and IQ, and English. Use the section weights to divide your practice time, then adjust for weak topics.
| Section | Official weight |
|---|---|
| Adv. Math | 50% |
| Basic Math | 20% |
| Analytical Skills & IQ | 20% |
| English | 10% |
Engineering needs at least 60 percent in SSC and 60 percent in HSSC with Pre-Engineering courses in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, or ICS courses in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics. Computing needs at least 60 percent in SSC and 50 percent in HSSC with Mathematics, and pre-medical students who have passed additional mathematics or are awaiting the result are eligible. Applicants select exactly one route among the FAST test, SAT, or NTS, with NAT-IE accepted for Engineering and NAT-IE or NAT-ICS accepted for Computing, and NTS results from specific universities are not acceptable.
FAST applies negative marking and prohibits calculators. Read each section's timing and marking instructions before starting. Practise mental arithmetic and working within section time limits.
