NUST SNS Guide: BS Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry Programs

What Is SNS?

The School of Natural Sciences (SNS) was originally established as the Center for Advanced Mathematics and Physics (CAMP) in 2004. It was later renamed SNS and expanded to include the Department of Chemistry. SNS is located at NUST H-12 and is primarily focused on theoretical and applied sciences.

BS Mathematics at SNS

BS Mathematics covers pure mathematics (algebra, analysis, topology) and applied mathematics (differential equations, numerical analysis, optimization). Mathematics graduates work in data science, finance, academia, and research. SNS also offers MS and PhD in Mathematics.

BS Physics at SNS

BS Physics covers classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and solid-state physics. SNS physics graduates are well-prepared for MS/MPhil in specialized physics fields. Career paths include academia, research institutes, and the tech industry through computational physics.

BS Chemistry at SNS

BS Chemistry covers organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and biochemistry. SNS chemistry graduates work in the pharmaceutical industry, quality control labs, and research. Many pursue MS/PhD at NUST or international universities.

Research Focus

SNS has a strong research orientation. All three departments offer MS and PhD programs. SNS faculty includes active researchers in pure and applied sciences. The school has dedicated computational and analytical labs.
