NUST Hostel Application Process: How to Apply, Documents, and Allotment Criteria

Newly enrolled NUST students apply for hostel accommodation online through the admissions portal (ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk for UG, nust.edu.pk for PG). Continuing students apply through their Qalam account. Hostels are allotted based on application seniority — first-come-first-served. Documents needed: paid fee challan, NUST Hostel Rules Awareness Certificate, CNIC copies. Once allotted, a 6-month hostel fee challan plus PKR 25,000 security deposit is issued. Mess fee of PKR 18,000/month is paid separately.

Who Is Eligible for NUST Hostel?

Only students registered for statutory courses at the Islamabad campus are eligible for NUST hostel accommodation. Hostels are primarily for outstation students. Hostel accommodation is strictly allotted according to the application seniority list, not on a first-come-first-served basis — the earlier you apply after admission confirmation, the higher your priority.

How to Apply

Step 1: Newly enrolled undergraduate students apply online through ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk. Postgraduate students through nust.edu.pk. Step 2: Once your application is approved, a 6-month Hostel Accommodation Charges challan and Hostel Security Charges challan (PKR 25,000) are issued on your Qalam account. Step 3: Pay the challan and keep the receipt. Step 4: Upon arrival at the hostel, submit the payment receipt to your Hostel Manager. Step 5: Also submit the NUST Hostel Rules Awareness Certificate (signed). Step 6: A monthly mess fee challan (PKR 18,000) plus refundable mess security (PKR 20,000) is issued separately.
