What Financial Aid Does NUST Offer?

NUST offers multiple financial assistance programs to ensure that talented students are not held back by financial constraints. These include need-based financial aid, merit-based scholarships, interest-free loans through the Ihsan Trust, and government scholarships like PEEF and HEC programs. Last year, NUST disbursed over PKR 200 million in financial aid to deserving students.

Need-Based Financial Aid (NFAAF)

NUST's Need-Based Financial Aid program is the primary support system for students from low-income families. It covers full or partial tuition fee deferment and provides a subsistence allowance. Eligibility: family monthly income under PKR 100,000. Students must submit the Need-Based Financial Aid Application Form (NFAAF) along with income certificates, salary slips, and utility bills. The application is reviewed by a committee, and aid is renewed each semester based on academic performance (minimum 2.5 CGPA).

Ihsan Trust Interest-Free Loans

NUST has partnered with Ihsan Trust to offer interest-free education loans to deserving students. The loan covers tuition fees up to PKR 300,000. Repayment starts one year after graduation and is spread over 5 years with no interest. Eligibility: confirmed admission at NUST, strong academic record, and demonstrated financial need. Application is through the NUST financial aid office.

Merit-Based Scholarships

NUST awards merit-based scholarships to students who achieve top positions in their programs. These are typically awarded after the first year based on CGPA. The scholarship covers partial or full tuition fee for the remaining semesters. There are also special scholarships for MS and PhD students — see the HEC and NUST graduate scholarship pages.

PEEF and HEC Scholarships

Students from Punjab can apply for PEEF scholarships through NUST's financial aid office. HEC Need-Based Scholarships are also available for students enrolled at NUST. These cover tuition and provide a living stipend. Applications open annually through the HEC portal.

How to Apply for NUST Financial Aid

• Download the NFAAF form from the NUST admissions website
• Gather supporting documents: income certificate, salary slips of parents/guardian, utility bills, and CNIC copies
• Submit the completed form to the NUST Financial Aid Office before the deadline
• For continuing students, aid renewal requires submitting the form each semester
• Ihsan Trust applications require additional documentation including guarantor details
