NUST S3H Guide: School of Social Sciences and Humanities

What Is S3H?

S3H (School of Social Sciences and Humanities) was established in 2013 at NUST H-12 Islamabad. It houses departments of Economics, Humanities, Behavioural Sciences, and Mass Communication. S3H was formed by combining existing departments and has grown rapidly.

BS Economics at S3H

BS Economics covers microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, development economics, and mathematical economics. NUST economics graduates work in banking, research organizations, government, and NGOs. S3H also offers MS and PhD in Economics.

BS Mass Communication at S3H

BS Mass Communication covers journalism, digital media, public relations, advertising, and film studies. The program has modern media labs and production facilities. Graduates work in news media, digital agencies, and corporate communications.

BS Psychology at S3H

BS Psychology covers clinical, social, developmental, cognitive, and organizational psychology. Clinical practice requires an MS/MPhil in Clinical Psychology (offered by S3H at the postgraduate level). BS Psychology graduates work in HR, counselling, research, and education.

BS Liberal Arts and Humanities

BS Liberal Arts offers a broad interdisciplinary education combining humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. It is designed for students who want a flexible, broad-based education before specializing at the master's level.

BS Public Administration

Formerly offered by Jinnah School of Public Policy and Leadership (JSPPL), BS Public Administration is now administered under S3H. It covers public policy, governance, administrative law, and public sector management. Graduates pursue CSS and careers in government and NGOs.
